Taylor finds it Tough in Manchester
By John Lowe, Mar 15 2013 08:18AM
Phil Taylor lost for the second time in two weeks of the Premier League, but this time it was outside influence that was [probably to blame, Taylor's match was last of the night, against Andy Hamilton, it was always going to be a tight game, Hamilton had beaten Taylor just a few days before in the European Classic, the match set of very even, but then it all changed, a incident in the crowd changed the whole match, a section of what appeared to be rival football fans, decided good ald fashioned banter was not good enough, and it esculated into a brawl, Taylor was fisibly detracted, and upset, Hamilton totaly ignored it, and took the match quite easily, It was inevitable this kind of behaviour would happen one day, when 8000 people from one City are put in one room, and they are opposing fans of different football teams present, darts takes second place, let's hope this is not a trend for the future. The rest of the matches where of a very high quality, Van Gerwen beat Newton by 7 legs to 4, Lewis managed to draw with Anderson, whitlocl played his best darts for a while, beating Wade 7-4, Barney and Thornton drew 6-6. The table after 6 weeks, find the two Dutch players one and two, Barney top, Gerwen two, Wade is third, and Thornton fourth, Taylor is out of the top four for the first time, but I am sure he will be back firing on all cylinders next week.
