Michael Van Gerwen won his 4th TV title in November when he beat Adrian Lewis in the Final of the Cash Convertor Tournament in Minehead, he was virtually unstoppable throughout the whole event. In the semi-finals Lewis beat the in form Mensur Soljvic 11-1 and MVG beat Daryl Gurney 11-2, after these outstanding results many thought the final would be very close, but MVG proved a little to strong all round and came out a convincing winner by 11 legs to 6. Next it's The World's from Ally Pally, can MVG carry on in 2016 where he left off in 2015 ? I believe he can and he will start the Championship a firm favourite with the Bookmakers and the punters alike.

Gary Anderson crashed out of the Cash Convertors Championship in Minehead to Daryl Gurney 10 legs to 4, you could say Anderson was not at his best with a disappointing 21% on the finishing doubles, but take nothing away from Gurney who produced a solid all round performance. Peter Wright and Simon Whitlock fought a tough battle, Whitlock taking the last leg of the match to win 10-9, Ian White and Gerwyn Price also went the distance victory going to White. Dave Chisnall beat Jamie Lewis 10-8, Adrian Lewis brushed aside Alan Noris to win 10-3. Benito Van de Pas brought his "A" game to the Oche against James Wade winning 10-3 with a 105 average and a 66.67% double finishing average. Mensur Soljovic continued his remarkable year with a 10-3 win over Michael Smith and MVG beat Vincent Van der Voort 10-6. The championship will be played to a finish today.

The much awaited first round draw that threw Gary Anderson and Phil Taylor together in the Cash Convertors Players Championship at Minehead was won by Anderson, but only just, ne needed 2 x 180 in the last leg and a 14 dart finish to see of the former World Champion 6-5, of course it wouldn't be a shock to see either player win but there where other surprise wins on in the days play, Thornton out to Jamie Lewis 6-5, Kim Huyberchts out to Daryl Gurney 6-2, King out to Suljovic 6-1, Bunting out to Benito Van de Pas 6-4, Klaasen out to Gerwyn Price 6-4, Jenkins out to Noris 6-3, Justin Pipe out to Vincent Van der Voort 6-1 and Barney out to Ian White, expected wins for Adrian Lewis, Wade, Whitlock , Van Gerwen and Chisnell who beat Joe Murman 6-0. The days play shows how tight the gap is between the players now, shocks of the past are now just surprises, you could say this tournament is wide open, and the world championship which is just 3 weeks away will maybe be the same.

Michael Van Gerwen beat Phil Taylor16-13 to win the Sinha Beer Grand Slam of Darts in Wolverhampton last night, this complete the clean sweep of all PDC Majors for the Dutchman and confirms his place the number one player in World Darts, it was an enthraling final, both players averaging over 100 per throw and scoring 25 maximums, Taylor was 4-1 and 7-3 in front when double trouble hit and it stayed for a while, in fact Taylor missed 13 throws at doubles in the next 7 legs, something we thought not possible by his high standards, MVG did not mind at all and accepted his good fortune by not losing the lead again once in front at 8-7 and he said as much in his post match interview, Michael has had a brilliant 2015 and he will now be looking to retain his World title at Ally Pally which starts in a months time, Taylor is far from finished on the form he has produced at Wolves throughout this event, however he must be thinking this morning of what should have been his Grand Slam.

Michael Van Gerwen showed the audience at Wolves and the TV viewers world wide why he is the number one player in the world at this time in the Singha Beer Garnd Slam of Darts quarter final last night, he calmly, cooly and audaciously swepped Kim Huybrechts away to win 16 legs to 4, it was a very impressive performance of all round dart throwing, a111 average and a 62% finishing avarage, not forgeting 12 maximums, just superb.
Michael Smith beat Adrian Lewis in the other quarter final 16-11, a great performance from Smith who has all the qualities to be a magor winner, but a very disappointing night for Lewis who could not buy a double, and when I say double I mean multiple doubles, as much as hitting maximums is self pleasing, missing doubles is self destroying.

Phil Taylor will play Raymond Van Barnaveldt in the Singha Beer Semi final at Wolverhampton after both players won their quarter final matches, Taylor beat Robert Thornton 16-7 with a brilliant display of finishing, his scoring average was 104 but more importantly his finishing average was 76% and that's what makes champions. Barney beat Mark Webster in a much closer match winning 16-12, Webster did make a mini revival but Barney hit back winning the last three legs to seal victory.
