Michael Van Gerwen made it three Dubai Duty Free Darts Masters wins in a row when he beat Phil Taylor 11-8 in the final, early in the day MVG played Adrain Lewis in a superb semi-final, both players scored heavily and both missed doubles throughout the match, non more so that Lewis's miss at D16 to go 2 legs clear at 8-7, Lewis did take the match to 10-9 but had to watch MVG hit a 174 and then D20 to seal his place in the final.

Phil Taylor played Gary Anderson in his semi-final, Anderson just did not turn up losing 7 legs in a row when 1-1, at 9-3 to Taylor you could say there was no way back and the inevitable happened, Taylor winning 11-3.

The final see-sawed between the two players, there was a lot of drama and tension in the first 16 legs, missed doubles from both players but in particular Taylor who could have opened a 3 leg lead, sadly for Taylor missed doubles proved to be very costly when he missed tops to make it 10-9 and with one leg needed to retain the title MVG finished it off in clinical fashion and becomes the only winner of the Dubai Masters since it's inception in 2013.

The Mercedes CLA 250 Sport on offer to the player who could hit the perfect 9 dart game remained on it's stand.

The Dubai Duty Free Darts Masters started in fine form for Adrian Lewis and Stephen Bunting who luanched he event with a superb match that could have gone either way, the match was level all the way and at 9-8 bunting missed the Bull, D8 and D4 to win the match, Lewis steps in and hits D8 to take the game to a decider, Lews hits his 5th maximum and D8 to snatch victory a disappointed Bunting who recorded 11 maximums.

Gary Anderson and James Wade continued where Lewis and Bunting left off with another high scoring game, only 1 leg seperated the pair until it reached 9-8 to Anderson who took out 147 to seal a 10-8 victory.

Phil Taylor was looking to record his first win ever in Dubai against Peter Wright and he did so in style, Wright hung on to Taylor until the 8th leg when it was all square, it was 6 legs before he won another and not enough to worry Taylor who hit D16 to win 10-5.

Top of the bill was the Dutch pairing of MVG and Barney, this was another thriller for the Dubai crowd, at 8-8 it was begining to look like anyones match, both players missing doubles and breaking each others throw, but it was MVG who managed to cross the line first winning 10-8 and keeping his unbeaten run in Dubai alive.

The semi-finals will be the best of 21 legs:
