Gary Anderson will play Michael Van Gerwen in tonight's final of the William Hill World Championship at Ally Pally, Yesterdays semi-finlas saw Anderson beat Peter Wright 6-3, the match was level at 3 sets each, then anderson set off on a run of 8 straight legs to seal the match and a place in the final.
The Second semi-final between Raymond Van Barnaveldt and Michael Van Gerwen was at times breathtaking, Barney took the first set 3-0 with finishes of 107, 131, and 96, Gerwen leveled, Barney took the 3rd set hitting his 6th maximum, again Gerwen leveled, and did not drop another set even though Barney had a losing average of 109.34 a record on TV, Van Gerwen also set a new winning record of 114.05, he hit 15 maximums to Barney's 14, it was a match for the history books, it was not good, it was magnificent in every possible way, commentator John Part summed it up when he said " I trust people watching who do not know darts, will not think a game so difficult to play is this easy".
Tonight the World's Top two players will play the final, and what a final we have in prospect, Gerwen desperately trying to add the title he so badly want's, Anderson bidding to win it for the third straight year.

Darts fans World Wide enjoyed a great day of darts from Alexandra Palace, London, yesterday, It was quarter-finals day and what a display of dart throwing was served up, first on Peter Wright and James Wade, the scoreline was 5-3 to Wright, Wade did lead 2 sets to 1 but Wright leveled averaging 110 for the set, he followed up with another 110 average and went ahead, a lead he would not lose.
Gary Anderson and Dave Chisnall played the second match of the afternoon session and what a match it was, level at 3-3, Chisnall then missed 4 darts to take set 7, set 8 was level at 2 legs each, but Anderson managed to hit double 10 to take the set and the match, Chisnall hit a remarkable 21 maximums equaling Barney's record in a individual match, but those 4 missed doubles in set 7 will haunt him for a long time.
Michael Van Gerwen played Daryl Gurney in the first Quarter-final of the night session, it went 5-1 to Gerwen but it was far closer than the scoreline,Gurney put up a great performance, but Van Gerwen's determination to win the match and the championship was clear for all to see as he finished twice on 170 and was clearly disapointed not to make it three.
Phil Taylor and Raymond Van Barnaveldt played the last match of the quarters, and what on paper looked to be a mouth watering contest was anything but, it was level at 3-3 but the average's of both players had dropped to the 80's and the crowd showed their feelings, Barney however picked up his game and his stamina reeling off a 3 leg to 0 set and finished the job with a 3-2 win in set 8, to show his delight Barney took the dart board down and asked Taylor to sign it before handing it to a member of the audience, a Taylor trade mark in reverse.

Michael Van Gerwen and Cristo Reyes played the match of the Championship last night, both had the highest averages to date, Gerwen 105, Reyes 106, Gerwen hitting 10 maximums and finishes of 164 and 161, Reyes the Spanish no 1 from my holiday home of Tenerife did have 1 dart at double 18 to take the match into a deciding leg before a relieved Van Gerwen the World No 1 closed the match out.
Phil Taylor beat Kevin Painter 4-0 in a match that did not live up to it's expectations, Taylor did take out 167, but that was as good as it got.
