Terry Jankins "Bully Bully" knocked MVG out of the Players championship at Minehead last night in a dramatic match, the score line of 10-7 was fair but not a reflection of the missed doubles from the World Champion, it could so easily have been 10-7 to MVG. Winstanley put on a great display against Klassen averaging 104 in his 10-5 win. Vincent van der Voort looked comfortable against Snake Bite Wright winning 10-5. Taylor and King fought a close battle, the Power managing to stay ahead winning 10-7 and another 100+ average. Gary Anderson put Stephen Bunting under pressure in the mid session of their match, at 3-3 Gary wins 4 straight legs and that was the difference between them 10-5. Adrian Lewis comfortably beat Andy Smith 10-3. Newton came out a comfortable winner against Dolan 10-5. Thornton made a remarkable come back against Caven, loosing 9-4 he brought the match back to 9-9 and then missed tops to win, Caven took out 81 on the Bullseye.
Final day of darts on ITV 4.

It was a good day of darts at the Cash Converters Players Championship at Minehead, following the afternoon matches which saw Caven, Newton, Dolan, Thornton, Jenkins, A. Smith, Winstanley and King go through to the second stage came the big guns, not all of them fired on all cylinders though, Wade lost to Klassen 6-4 and Lewis dspatched Chisnall by 6 games to 2, Anderson beat Kist in a tight match by the deciding leg 6-5, Taylor put Baxter out in a one sided match, P. Wright beat new comer Benito van de Pas 6-2 and the battle of the dutch was won by MVG over Barney 6-2. Eight of the players in the evening session had averages of 100 and more, Anderson the best with 110.68, Klassen second with 108 this tournament is producing some high scoring but more important high finishing, don't be surprised if we see a 9 dart game over the next two days.

This could be the draw of the year, not a game you could say you did not want to watch, it will be interesting to see how the bookies give their odds, there will not be many shocks because most of these players are capable of beating each other, one thing is for sure it will be good TV viewing.
